Habitat for Humanity receives property donation in Bay Minette

Washington, D.C. – January 6, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — North Baldwin Utilities has committed to donate a parcel of property to Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County for the construction of a new home for a family in need of decent housing.

Mayor Robert A. “Bob” Wills and Jason Padgett, NBU General Manager, made the presentation to Sandy Folan, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County. The presentation took place at the monthly meeting of the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.

NBU acquired the property on Townsend Avenue at a tax sale to use for easements to upgrade the sewer system. Those projects have now been completed, officials said.

Now in its 20th year of serving Baldwin County, Habitat for Humanity works to make decent, affordable housing a reality for members of the community. The nonprofit agency has partnered with thousands of volunteers and helped more than 100 families.
