$1 Million Contract presented for drainage repairs in City of Mobile

Mobile Fire-Rescue and American Red Cross announce Home Fire Campaign

In an effort to ensure every home is equipped with a working smoke detector, the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department (MFRD) and the American Red Cross are teaming up to provide and install battery powered smoke alarms at no cost to the citizens of Mobile. Additionally, firefighters will educate every household where alarms are installed on fire safety and smoke alarm maintenance.

US Courts, GSA break ground on Mobile, Ala. federal courthouse

The U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama, and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) will today break ground on the new federal courthouse construction project in Mobile, Alabama

Project Homeless Connect serves more than 600 clients

On a balmy Saturday morning Feb. 27, more than 1,000 people gathered outside the Boutwell Auditorium all in the name of service, some to provide service and some to receive service. Project Homeless Connect 2016 brought out hundreds of homeless or near homeless in Jefferson County with dreams to improve their situation in life and move closer to self sufficiency.

City of Mobile strengthening security measures at community centers

The City of Mobile is taking steps to strengthen security at its community centers to safeguard citizens utilizing these facilities. Pending Council approval, the City of Mobile will install new security systems at Harmon, Springhill and Dotch Community Centers. The camera feeds will be streamed to Mobile Police Department's Joint Operations Center, an intelligence-based initiative designed to protect public venues.

Bank Independent welcomes Crittenden to mortgage lending team

Anita Crittenden has joined Bank Independent's Mortgage Lending Department as a mortgage originator. Based in the Bank's Muscle Shoals sales office, Crittenden will assist customers across the Shoals with their mortgage needs.
