Home Builders Association of Alabama presents annual awards

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The Home Builders Association of Alabama honored several individual members and local Home Builders Associations with awards during its 2016 Annual Convention recently in Nashville.

Jeremy Wright of Pelham was named the (HBAA)’s Jerry Kyser Builder of the Year for 2016. Johnson, of J. Wright Building Company, is a member of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders. The Jerry Kyser Builder of the Year Award recognizes a builder member from a local association with more than 500 members who has shown outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community and the building industry as a whole.

Sam Almaroad of Jacksonville received the Don Nolan Builder of the Year award. The President of Sam Almaroad Construction, Almaroad has been a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Calhoun County since 1985. The Don Nolan Builder of the Year Award recognizes a builder member from a local association with 500 or fewer members who has shown outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community and the building industry as a whole.

Bret Slaton of Huntsville received the Remodeler of the Year award for 2016. Slaton, of Slaton Custom Homes, is a member of the Huntsville/Madison County Builders Association. The Remodeler of the Year award recognizes a remodeler member who has shown outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community and the remodeling industry as a whole.

David Estreicher of Birmingham was named the Buddy Berry Associate of the Year. Estreicher, of Allegion Schlage Lock Company, is a member of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders. The Buddy Berry Associate of the Year Award recognizes an associate member from a local association with more than 500 members who has shown outstanding service to their local and state associations, their community and the building industry as a whole.

HBAA President Mark Reid honored two local Home Builders Associations with the President’s Trophy. Each year, the current HBAA President selects two local Home Builders Associations (one large and one small) to receive President’s Trophies in honor of outstanding service and excellence throughout the year. For the second year in a row, the Greater Montgomery Home Builders Association was presented with the President’s Trophy for a Large Association, while the Shoals Home Builders Association received the President’s Trophy for a Small Association for the third year in a row.
