REALTORS® to honor Birmingham’s veterans with gift bags

BIRMINGHAM – June 11, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — To honor Birmingham and Alabama’s Veterans, REALTORS® from the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® will be delivering gift bags to residents at Birmingham’s Veteran’s Hospital on Thursday, June 11.

“Remembering and thanking our Veterans is a privilege for all Americans,” said James Harwell, 2015 BAR President. “We especially don’t want to forget our Veterans who are hurting, or facing surgery and experiencing a hospital stay.”

Every year during the month of June the members of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® public relations committee pay a visit to Veteran’s Hospital in downtown Birmingham to present patients with personal care items that are always welcome such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, hand lotion, a hair comb, etc. This year Association members will be going to the Veteran’s Home in Pell City as well.

“We just observed Memorial Day a few weeks ago,” said public relations committee chair and REALTOR® Fran Aldridge. “Flag Day is June 14, and the Nation’s birthday celebration is just around the corner. We encourage you to join with us in thanking our Veterans especially at this time of year.”

The members of the Birmingham Association of RELATORS have been visiting Veteran’s Hospital each year since 2011, which was the Centennial year of the Association.

“We do this to demonstrate that REALTORS® care about our communities we serve,” said REALTOR® Luciana Guin who chaired the project. “Thanking our Veterans is a simple but significant way to show our appreciation to those who have done so much for us.”

The Birmingham Association of REALTORS® has served as the “Voice of Real Estate” in Central Alabama since 1911, issuing statistical analysis of market conditions, offering legislative support to its members and the industry at large and serving as the premier resource for all things real estate in Birmingham and Central Alabama. By promoting the highest standards of Professionalism, Ethics, Education, and Technology, BAR ensures that our REALTOR® members are the primary source for real estate.
