Spring events set for Bellingrath Gardens and Home in March

Washington, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — Springtime in Mobile means beautiful azaleas, and the best place to view them is Bellingrath Gardens and Home. Enjoy the blooms of more than 250,000 vibrant azaleas in an explosion of color throughout the 65 acres of the Gardens.

Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, March 19
Hop on down to the Gardens for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny! Thousands of Easter eggs will be scattered across the Great Lawn, and there will be plenty of candy and treats for little ones to fill their Easter baskets. The morning includes separate egg hunts for toddlers and older children as well as prizes, candy, activities and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Reservations are required for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny in the Magnolia Café, which begins at 8 a.m.; to register, call (251) 973-2217.

The egg hunts will begin at 9 a.m. There is no admission charge for members of the Friends of Bellingrath. Regular Gardens admission of $13 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 5-12 will be charged. Children ages 4 and younger are always admitted free.

Easter Sunrise Service, March 27
As the sun rises over Bellingrath Gardens and Home on Easter Sunday, guests are invited to come and enjoy a special Sunrise Service with friends and family on Live Oak Plaza. The service will begin at 6:30 a.m. and is open to everyone in the community. During the service, an offering will be collected to benefit Family Promise of Coastal Alabama, an agency that helps homeless families.

Complimentary admission will be given to guests from 6-8 a.m. on Easter Sunday. A limited number of chairs will be set up and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. If the weather does not cooperate, the service will be held in the Magnolia Café.
A hot breakfast will be served in the Magnolia Café from 7:30-9 a.m. Cost is $9.95 for adults and $7.95 for children.

23rd Annual Camellia Classic Open Car Show, April 2
Enjoy a display of hundreds of vintage and classic automobiles on Saturday, April 2, as Bellingrath Gardens and Home hosts the Mobile Bay Mustang Club’s 23rd Annual Camellia Classic Open Car Show on the Great Lawn.

It’s all for a good cause, too; proceeds from car registrations will go to Feeding the Gulf Coast (formerly Bay Area Food Bank) and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Guests who bring a canned good for the Bay Area Food Bank on the day of the event will receive $1 off of the admission price to Bellingrath Gardens.

Visitors are invited to stroll among hundreds of cars on display, including Model Ts; antique and modern Mustangs; Ferraris and Lamborghinis; muscle cars; and many more. Car registration will be from 8 a.m. to noon, judging will begin at 11 a.m. and the awards presentations will be at 2:30 p.m.

The Foosackly’s food truck will be on the Great Lawn, serving lunch and snacks from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will also be available for purchase in the Magnolia Café from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

National Public Gardens Day, May 6
National Public Gardens Day promotes the important role of public gardens in encouraging environmental stewardship and awareness. Get to know the Gardens with behind-the-scenes tours conducted by Bellingrath’s Horticultural Management Team. We will have guided tours to the Bellingrath Greenhouses at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tours are included as part of the regular Gardens admission.

Mother’s Day Evening Garden Concert, May 8
The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra and Bellingrath Gardens and Home will present their Annual Mother’s Day Evening Concert on Sunday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m. on Live Oak Plaza. Enjoy a late afternoon of music set amidst the splendor of the Gardens. Beginning at 4 p.m. on Mother’s Day, admission will be reduced to $7 p.m. for adults and $4 p.m. for children ages 5-12.

Limited seating will be provided, but visitors are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Guests are also invited to reserve a table to enjoy a picnic supper during the concert. Beverages and snacks will be available to purchase on Live Oak Plaza.
